Howdy,
I’m Divya.
Designer. Educator. Accessibility Advocate.
When asked, "What would you do if you didn't have to worry about money?" my answer is always "designer" (though, pasta shape inventor did cross my mind too). I just really love the work I do. I thrive on solving puzzles, navigating ambiguous problem spaces, and teaching others about design practices along the way.
With a robust background in B2B enterprise software, design strategy, and web accessibility, I'm on the lookout for interesting senior-level product design opportunities and educator opportunies where I can turn complex challenges into delightful, intuitive solutions and share my love of design with others.
Why I do what I do
Even when a design project feels like this sometimes (i.e. everything is on fire), it’s still my dream career.
Things I Value
Design for inclusion.
The decisions we make now can determine whether a solution is discriminatory in the future. Right now, I’m learning as much as I can about inclusive design and accessibility to understand how my own biases can lead to discriminatory experiences. I’m always learning, but #ProgressOverPerfection.
Remember the people you’re working with are well ….people.
Take the time to make a connection and learn more about folks you work with, because that repertoire will go a long way.
Always keep learning.
Two beautiful things about this world: 1) it’s impossible to know everything, and 2) inspiration can come from unexpected places. I’m always on the hunt for experiences that challenge my mindset.
Add a little whimsy…
(when appropriate, of course). One of my professors still recounts me as the person who loves addings fun pop culture gifs to her presentations. I believe that a little whimsy and streamlined explanations can help communicate the most complex topics in a way that’s enjoyable, understandable, and memorable.
