Blue Light Campus Safety

[Employer] UTEP Academic Technologies

[Role] This was an individual graphic design project

BlueLight is an app designed for the University of Texas of El Paso’s Campus Community Response initiative. The app functions as a personal blue light. Through it, the user can contact the police in case of emergency, find the closest blue light on campus, add emergency contacts, and learn more safety tips.

I was the lead visual designer for this project up until I graduated from the university in December 2017. During this time, I created the style guide, designed icons, created the app background, and worked directly with the developers to ensure the assets were compatible. The app continued to be developed and was released October 2018. Most of this project was developed by students (myself included!)

This was an illustration that didn’t make it into the final app, but I loved how it turned out.
